This site accepts license plates. Since license plates are made of recyclable aluminum or steel, Monroe County residents should place their old plates in the recycling box instead of the trash. Residents will be responsible for any tickets (and resulting fines) written against their old plate number. To prevent this possibility, DMV recommends the plates be separated, voided with permanent ink marker and placed in recycling bins on alternate weeks.
