Staples accepts a wide array of electronics for recycling at all of our store locations nationally, with many items recycled free of charge. We’ll even reward you for recycling your ink and toner cartridges!

Free recycling of cell phones, PDAs, and chargers in all Staples stores nationally. Bring all items to the customer service desk.

Computer Monitors

Dell branded monitors are accepted for free. All other brands of monitors are accepted for recycling for a fee of $10. Keyboards, mice, modems, and speakers can be recycled for free with a monitor. Bring all items to the customer service desk.

Computer monitors, desktops, laptops, printers, faxes, and all-in-ones are accepted for recycling. Dell branded items can be recycled for free, while all other brands of equipment can be recycled for a fee of $10. Keyboards, mice, modems, and speakers can be recycled for free with a larger item. Recycle ANY ink and toner cartridge at Staples and get $3 in Staples Rewards for each cartridge. The credit is in the form of Staples Rewards statements, which can be used like cash in Staples stores or at www.staples.com. There is a limit of 10 cartridges per customer per month. Cartridges can be returned to any register.

Free recycling of most rechargeable batteries including Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd). Bring all items to the customer service desk.

Free recycling of most rechargeable batteries, including Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion (Li-ion), and Small Sealed Lead (Pb) batteries (weighing less than 2 pounds). Bring all items to the customer service desk.

Staples has a pretty good track record for providing recycling services to the public for hard to recycle items that it sells. http://www.staples.com/sbd/content/about/soul/recycling.html outlines their programs really well.
