Special waste collection is an "on-call" and free service provided on your regularly scheduled refuse/garbage collection day. Please call Solid Waste Services at (972) 721-2232 to inform them of your special waste for collection.

Car fluids must be put in 1 gallon containers, preferably the original container. This program accepts up to 5 gallons per collection.

Car Batteries

This program accepts up to 3 batteries per collection.

Cooking Oil

This program accepts vegetable oil, sunflower oil, cottonseed oil, peanut oil and canola oil. It does not accept animal fats such as bacon grease. Oil should be in liquid form. Please place in the original container or in 1 gallon containers preferably with a screw top lid to prevent leaking.

Latex Paint

Paint must be put in sealed containers, preferably original container, not larger than 5 gallons in size. This program accepts up to 15 gallons per collection.

Medical Sharps

Please place all hypodermic needles in a container that cannot be punctured, such as an empty coffee can, plastic milk jug or soda bottle with lid placed securely on the container and taped closed.

Motor Oil

Motor oil must be put in a container less than 1 gallon in size with a secure lid or cap. This program accepts up to 5 gallons per collection.

Oil Filters

Used oil filters should be placed in clear sealed plastic bags. This program accepts up to 5 filters per collection.

Paint must be put in sealed containers, preferably original container, not larger than 5 gallons in size. This program accepts up to 15 gallons per collection.
