They are heavy and will probably get dried needles all over your car, so we don't want you to waste your time when you're trying to do something good. Stickers and bags can be purchased at: Hy-Vee and Dahls stores located inside the City of Des Moines or at Des Moines City Hall, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, IA.
Place yard waste at the designated location no later than 6:30am on the scheduled collection day and no earlier than 5pm the day before the scheduled collection. Yard waste is picked up on your regular garbage collection day.
Branches must be cut to 4 foot lengths or less and tied in bundles. Bundles should weigh less than 40 lbs. Attach a “Compost it!” sticker to each bundle and remove any decorations.
