Most of the general public utilizes the Transfer Station site, which is located at 5050 West Old Potash Highway, just 3 miles west of Grand Island, at the corner of Monitor Road and Potash Highway. The Transfer Station is the proper site for manual unloading of materials, and is also the location for the Yard Waste Site.

All incoming loads must be covered with a tarp or net. There is a fee for uncovered loads and additional fees for some materials. Compost and wood chips are available for sale at the Transfer Station.

The Transfer Station offers to residential customers free disposal of grass and leaves. There is a separate location North of the Transfer Station building that is used seasonally for checking in grass and leaves at the Yard Waste Site. Grass and leaves can be checked in year round, at no charge, at the Transfer Station office during regluar business hours when the separate entrance to the Yard Waste Site is not open. Please keep yard waste separate from other transfer station materials.
