All recyclable materials may be placed in one bin. Please rinse all containers and remove lids.

SPECIAL PICK-UP:
This program also includes special collections for CFLs, Batteries, Electronics, Yard Waste, and Bulk Items. Residential Special Pickup collection is intended for the unusually large accumulation of household or yard wastes that cannot be picked up in the normal twice a week refuse collection. Special Pickups are available to single-or two-family dwelling units for a fee.

Requests must be made by the end of Monday. Please call for more information. To schedule a special pickup or yard debris collection please call or email Public Works at dpw@laurel.md.us.

Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs contain a small amount of mercury and cannot be placed in regular household refuse or special pickup collections. The Department of Public Works has initiated a recycling program to collect used and broken bulbs. If the bulbs are broken, put the pieces in a glass container, place the glass container with the waste material in a plastic bag marked with an “X” and place next to your recycling container on your recycling day. For large tube bulbs contact the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088 to make special arrangements and for additional information regarding the safe handling of CFL bulbs.
