SCROUNGE stands for Students for Computer Recycling to Outfit Underrepresented Nonprofit Groups in Education.

SCROUNGE at Penn State York is a student-run, non-profit committee. SCROUNGE helps those who are in need of technological equipment, keeps computers out of the waste stream, and shares computer technical information through interactive learning.

Companies and individuals donate computers to SCROUNGE. The computers are tested, refurbished, and recycled. The equipment is placed, at no charge, into rural and city schools, libraries, and educational non-profit organizations.

SCROUNGE will only pick up materials in large quantities (loads requiring a box truck).
