City of Berkeley Curbside Recycling Program - Updated Jul 6, 2016 Back

This program is offered by the Berkeley Ecology Center and is available to single-family homes and small apartment buildings.

Single-family homes are provides a split cart, with the blue-top section for containers and the brown-top section for paper. Apartment buildings are provided with two separate carts, a blue-top cart for containers and a brown-top cart for paper.

Please have your bin at the curb by 7am on your collection day, and make sure your cart is in plain view.

Plastics NOT Acceptable for Recycling

NO: Small plastic items (examples: utensils, hot cup lids, loose caps, condiment cups).
NO: Plastic Bags
NO: Compostable plastics.
NO: Styrofoam.
NO: Non-rigid food packaging (snack bags & other "soft" plastic packages).
