Amherst hosts an annual event for residents of Amherst and Pelham to safely dispose of household hazardous waste. It is typically held in late September or early October. Please call or visit the website for details on the next event.
Based on annual agreements with neighboring towns, residents of Leverett and Shutesbury may also participate. Pre-registration is required. Please call for fee information. Event dates are announced 4-6 weeks in advance.
No more than 25 gallons or 25 pounds (whichever is greater) will be collected per household.
