They are heavy and will probably get dried needles all over your car, so we don't want you to waste your time when you're trying to do something good. The Christmas trees you set out for pickup go to the Authority's sponsored compost facilities. Please contact the community in which you live and find out the procedures for curbside yard waste disposal. However residents of Franklin County and pre-approved areas can take their yard waste to either of two SWACO contracted composting centers at no charge. These composting Centers are operated by Kurtz Bros., Inc. and Ohio Mulch, Inc.
We ask that you remove the plastic or metal icicles and the large plastic tree bags. Plastic contaminates the compost process and ruins the finished product.
