City of Houston Curbside Recycling Program - Updated Jan 20, 2014 Back

The Houston Solid Waste Management Department offers two types of recycling collection service. Curbside recycling utilizes a 18-gallon bin placed at the curb for collection, while automated recycling utilizes a 96-gallon cart rolled to the curb for collection. Please call to find out which program you qualify for and learn how to acquire a bin.

Your automated container and recycling bin(s) should be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. and removed by 10:00 p.m. on your collection day. On windy days, secure recycling materials by placing full sacks of paper on top of the bin.
